ABSTRACT Spiral structure is ubiquitous in the Universe, and pitch angle of arms spiral galaxies provide an important observable efforts to discriminate between different mechanisms arm formation evolution. In this paper, we present a hierarchical Bayesian approach galaxy determination, using data obtained through Galaxy Builder citizen science project. We new deal with large variations single galaxy, which obtains full posterior distributions on parameters. make use our angles examine previously reported links bulge bar strength angle, finding no correlation (with caveat that observational proxies for both size differ from other work). test recent model winding, predicts uniformity cotangent some unknown upper lower limits, observations are consistent transient recurrent as long at most winding spirals dissipate or disappear larger than 10°.
